  • Thank you!

Montserrat is so so sweet 'Not only the greatest tenor, but the greatest person'... Luciano's reaction was wonderful too. Two of the greatest voices ever to grace our earth, but also two of the most warm loving people.

This put a smile on my face, this was a wonderful upload. Thank you.

  • Isn't her speaking voice beautiful?

  • All her verbs are wrong and yet she explains herself perfectly!

  • P.S. The premiere performance was actually in October (the 29th)...

  • I attended their debut performance in San Francisco. It was a night I'll never forget, and no production of the opera has ever lived up to the expectations that Ponnelle set for me. It's wonderful to hear this interview. Thank you for posting it.

  • they are both very sweet and with a warm voice, but i think luciano pavarotti more, mabye because i love him very much or mabye because he is indeed more sweet, and i just want to eat him.

  • I was surprised here to hear Caballe in decent English. I read that when she first came to the Met she spoke to Tucker in German and he replied in Yiddish because she didn't know any English.

  • Actually Pav made a comment that Bjorling approached this role late in his career but he never sang it only recorded it late. Jussi only sang the aria live not the role live. Caballe had piano notes that equal Milanov but of course she was not a dramatic soprano so you cannot compare but I heard her in recital in 72 in Los Angeles and then in 1970 in trav with Gedda in Chicago. I saw my late friend Richard Tucker in the house enjoying it and as you know he was a good friend of Caballe.

  • thanks form this, they both have similar qualities also in voice. He was always interesting in interviews.
