Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, aka AMLO, visited Chicago on Sunday, Oct. 9th, 2011. He is the Legitimate President of Mexico. On 2006, Obrador won the elections as President of Mexico, but a massive fraud was committed and his presidency was stolen from him. Unlike any other candidate in Mexico since the revolutionary days, He amassed hundreds of thousands of people in the capital for passive protests so that justice was made, and the votes of the people respected, but fell deaf to the federal electoral tribune even with evidence of irregularities.
Obrador, instead of stepping down, or continue the protests, formed an alternative cabinet and was proclaimed as the Legitimate President of Mexico. Since then, until today, he has traveled all over Mexico to the smallest and most rural towns organizing them, and educating them about the current politics. He continually voices and warns people of the injustices that the government makes. He is one of those rare and few political figures that has an intact political record, he is a true servant of the people and a concerned leader for the poor (70% mexicans earn 13Dlls/day), and lastly is an honest, humble and devoted Mexican. He will run again in 2012.
