This video introduces the viewer to all of our 18 tigers and 4 lions that currently call Big Cat Rescue home! They all come from a variety of different backgrounds, but are now enjoying life at Big Cat Rescue in the Florida sunshine!

There are not as many lions in sanctuaries as tigers. One reason is that lions end up being served as exotic meats. More here: http://www.bigcatrescue.org/000news/0articlesbybcr/2008ManEatingLions.htm

If you would like to find out more about a particular tiger or lion please visit our website:

  • If tiger or any other big cat just decides to come off the cage could he do it?

  • @Varjo08 No all of our enclosures either have roofs on them or are to high for the cats

  • Do the Cats have their names already, or were they bequeathed by the staff? Do any of them seem to recognize their names?

  • @FroIsPower 99% of our cats already had their own names, I'm sure the cats recognize their names but you don't really know they may just recognize you or your voice?

  • What do each of their different sounds mean?

  • @FroIsPower The "chuffing" noise is a greeting, like saying hello :)
