When I filmed and then uploaded the clip referenced in this video I was unaware of the possible true purpose in providing a blue-colored LED light above a railway crossing. After upload I was contacted by a viewer who explained how Japan was experimenting with blue-colored LED lights as a possible deterrent to those who might wish to end their lives via railroad suicide. I looked into it and found an interesting article (link below) explaining the idea and application of this technology.

Here is a link to the video showing the blue LED:

  • YOU NEED YOUGA, THOSE BURPS ARE FROM YOUR STRESS

  • hehe i like the beging "woooaoow mann"

  • @SuperPacman66 it's very hard to be japanese

  • I don't understand how an LED light can prevent someone from ending their life.

And you should be ashamed of yourself calling those that choose to die sad.

  • @cool2t it may at least make people not jump in front of trains and bring debt to there families which may or may no prevent there suicide later. It is fucked up but it cost millions of yen lost in big city for delays,clean-up, lost customers and it adds up and puts more burden on the taxpayers that did not decide to take their own lives. still very sad.

  • Why is so common for suicide in Japan?

  • This is very hard to take in.. didn't know about this occurrence.. and gee.. you're such an intelligent man lols.. anyways as I was saying, it's so hard for many and the majority of asians to come out of their shell because so many are very conservative including myself. Other than that, thank you for sharing~

  • @patsybob They are fighting in different ways of course..suicide has been decreasing in Japan everysingle year since the government got serious around 2002...unfortunately the tsunami and earthquake might cause another spike in suicides

  • im not an expert on suicides but to me it seems its really a bad idea

i mean just the fact that something goes wrong and you survive but paralyzed from the neck down would be enough to scare me

i believe most japanese who choose the train are making a statement

  • i love blue-film anyway
