The drummer I used to play with back in the dark ages introduced me to Michel three years ago. Don't know how I missed him, but he would make my top ten faves anytime. I wish I could have introduced him to Atlanta a long time ago when I was in the jazz business. I suspect that if he was on the planet then, he was playing this way then as well (75-82 long live e.j.'s)

MIchel Camilo is simply the best. The first time I saw him play, my jaw dropped to the floor. Now, I plan all my vacations around being able to see him play live.
