  • Not everywhere, but in most of corporate America, a harassment case is either brushed off or it takes an eternity for it to be dealt with. And even then, the punishment never fits the crime. In strong union shops, there are far more of those kind of cases dealt with and resolved in such a way that it leaves the offenders wondering why they did what they did in the first place. I used harassment as an example because in most cases that's what makes a person's job bearable or nearly unbearable.

  • Some people seem to accept the concept that if someone is the owner of a business, they have the right to treat their employees any kind of way......REALLY? I mean REALLY, LOL?! Hell no!!

  • ...Without the fight that occurred a long time ago and continues on today, plant workers and others would be working under severe slave-like conditions. That's not acceptable, nor should it be to any one else who is working for a living, trying to support and generously provide for their families.

  • Hello my friends. No need to wonder, no need to doubt. The workers were treated worse than what is depicted in the movie. Besides what happened to Smoke, the movie is a pretty light-ended version of what line workers and others on the hourly side had to deal with, and still do in some places in this country. Union members fought for the things they have now concerning their jobs, it wasn't given to them.

  • Okay. So this movie is about the American Dream thing, according to the tagline.

  • @poughkeepsiejohn1 hi pough. Why didnt the 3 actors get on?

  • The making of this movie was not easy. For one thing, the three lead actors did not get along, especially Richard Pryor. The subject matter also hit a little too close to home. There's a disclaimer at the end of the film saying that Checker Motors, where the film was shot, does not treat its employees the way they are treated in this movie. Makes you wonder, though.

  • I want to watch this movie to find more about what happened to the rust belt. GenX/Millenials have no idea what these cities used to be.

  • You can download it from Amazon.

  • it is on dvd . I got it from Amazon or something about a year ago.
