Hauntingly beautiful and almost surreal...I love this.

A male alto doesn't sound like a woman, the coloring is different. If you're tone deaf then nothing will convince you. His is the best in the world, the voice is clear throughout. David Daniels' middle voice is scratchy

Vivaldi, prova a rinascere!

Scholl 's beheerste stemgebruik, z'n timbre en zuiverheid maken hem tot 's werelds beste counter tenor.

6 dislikers. They have to be family not to like this.
This piece sends violent chills down my spine every time I hear it. It is one of the most powerful of all Vivaldi's movements. Andreas Scholl is certainly one of the best voices for it.

I actually am a classical singer. First, I'm convinced he is a falsetto singer. Second, I was commenting on his lack of amplification because usually in a matured man's voice, the falsetto (or head voice for your liking) can not hold its own above an entire orchestra. The voice is usually weak and/or strained and lacks support and power. Andreas holds his own in this and lets the melody soar over the orchestra and his voice is not forced or weak at all. it's very impressive
