  • My son, Cameron, was on Sesame Street last year. He spend a lot of time with Caroll Spinney. Mr. Spinney was very interested in what Cameron had to say and encouraged Cameron to pursue his dream of becoming a puppeteer. At one point Cameron got in Oscars trash can and when he came out Caroll said, "Hey, get out of my trash can". It was so funny! This guy is truely an American icon.

  • He's just such a beautiful man with such a pure heart. Thank God the Academy still recognizes real legends.

  • Hi There: Caroll Spinney is a genius. When he finally does decide to retire from Sesame Street the world will be a sadder place!

  • Isn't it great, isn't it great? "Big Bird/Oscar" is 78. Happy Birthday, Carroll. You've come a long way since Bozo's Big Top.

Caroll that moment was so endearing to me that I will never forget it. How could I not help but have a crush on you?"

Also jfyi whoever reads this, Caroll was going through a divorce at the the time and hadn't yet started dating. Debbie (his second wife) is so lucky to have met and married this wonderful man.

I will always hold you in my heart. You gave to me, and others totally unconditionally.

Well I was devastated of course. I called Caroll obviously he felt how upset I was. Caroll told me,"Gee, Ellie if I wasn't so much older than you I would escort you to your prom but the kids and teachers would look at me and see how much older I was than you and it wouldn't be good."

  • Hey There: I just remembered something very endearing. I was scapegoated in High School .that June-71- was my High School prom. I had met Terry McGrath - Bobs extremely attractive nephew - older than me, tall, dark hair and the coolest sparkling blue eyes. i was immediately attracted to him. I thought he liked me too I wrote him a letter forwarded by Ann McGrath. After corresponding a bit I asked him to escort me to my High School prom. He lived in Minnesota and told me he could't make it.

  • Hi There Soar101

YES he is...more than you can possibly imagine. Thank-you!

  • About to turn 30, and these people can still make me smile as they did when I was 3. :)

  • One time I was home on the weekend and upset about an incident @ work, Bob answered the phone and spoke to me about the problem. I felt so much better afterwards. Bob, Ann and Caroll helped me with a lot of stuff - but Caroll was much more integral with me. One time we had a discussion about hard drugs and what they can do to one, and Caroll made me promise never to use hard drugs. I never did. People need to stop making such rash and horrid judgments.

  • As for Bob, no he is not an effing tard. He is a wonderful man devoted husband and father. He & his wife Ann reared 5 children. Ann & I became friendly & several times we met up in Manhattan & went to museums, she treated me to lunch, & once was able to bring me into the studio to watch a taping. When you don't know anything about someone except what you see on TV or in the movies you should not say such horrid things..
