The hottest new rap video can't be seen on MTV, BET or even VH-1 -- it's on ASHRAE.org. That's right -- "rap video." Not something you would think that the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) had the 4-11 about, right?

ASHRAE: Licensed to Chill features a hot soundtrack accompanied by interviews with young members highlighting the importance of the HVAC&R industry to the world; the diverse and creative opportunities related to engineering as a career; and the difference the building industry makes related to sustainability.

"The video drives home the message that our industry truly engineers the world we live in, and that young people don't want to miss out on the chance to be a part of that," he said.

The video will be made available to middle and high schools that seek information about careers in engineering from ASHRAE. It also is available in several formats suitable for downloading at www.ashrae.org/chill.

  • No Shit! And let me think about this. They are talking about Engineering, something that SHOULD require intelligence. Yet they are using RAP as their advertisement? Retarded! You lose brain cells just listening to that shit!

  • This video is painful to watch and makes me want to discontinue my ASHRAE membership!

  • 2:46 I'ts the enviroment stupid? O_o

  • I like the video. Good job!

  • vanilla ice is spinning in his grave right about now

  • OK, this video is useless: real HVAC engineers sound off

#1 what is your day to day like?

#2 I'm good at machine design, should I even consider an HVAC job?

#3 are these comments about crap pay, etc. true?

  • mildly addictive actually.

  • This video is an embarrassing disgrace to art and music. And the idea that this would actually "help to recruit young people" is ludicrous. The rapper is terrible, the lyrics are beyond stupid, and the "cool young engineers" recruited to be in the video are all terrible on camera.

  • HVAC engineers are fucking whores. I'm getting out of this field asap. We work for peanuts and have ridiculous time managment issues. We're either overloaded with work or scant. Feast or famine.

Engineers in this field are also idiots, we under bid one another to the point that we're barely braking profit on most jobs. We should have standard set fees and clients should hire us based on our reputation and personality. PS- LEED is BS

  • Seriously? Lets just bring more brain dead morons into the trade to keep under bidding the real professionals and bringing the trade down to the point that it isn't worth working in any more, hell where I'm from I'm now having to deal with illegal immigrants who think they are HVAC pros now, seriously under bidding me making it almost impossible to make a living any more, thank you OBUMA..

  • This is wishy washy scumy shit, get some brains morons and treat the trade with respect fuckn losers.

  • No wonder why you are a pitbullbane.

Change your user name to pitiful bane.

Let me tell you a rule of food chain.

"You cannot grasp the HVAC plans/layout because you belong to the lowest form of the food chain"

Don't make it hard. Ask the engineer if you don't know how to read plans or go ahead ending up a HAVOC engineer.
