The Vytrobulus (Weird Insrument)

Built out of stuff lying around. Has no apparent purpose, but looks cool.

Same as a Bass Guitar, but missing the low E string (A,D,G low to high). It also has metal wire for fretting on the first five frets, and the rest of the neck is fretless.

Total cost: about $40.00, and about 10 hours to build.

I applaud your ingenuity. The people whining about how it's not a real bass don't understand the entire point of making an instrument. I do have a question though, why did you not include the low E?

i was out of low E's when i built it. plus it makes it kind of different, sort of an alto bass guitar or something.

That bar that keeps you from moving your hand smoothly down the whole neck needs rerouted so that it no longer does that. Its an interesting design and concept, but it still needs some tweeking.

It has no low E, you can't reach the lower frets, and it has the tone of a 100$ bass guitar. AWESOME!
