In this video I will be showing you how to install Gentoo Linux from the minimal installation iso in VirtualBox, this install process is directly from the installation manual and you should be able to also install Gentoo on your hard drive using this visual guide. Make sure to follow along with the installation manual. This is the full video. Please leave a comment if you have any questions.

Which processor architecture do you select for a 64 but computer? amd64 or x86?

if youre setting this up in virtualbox you can just set up your network as "wired" since it is virtually plugged into your host OS....even if THAT is on a wireless network.

I'm very thankfull for this great tutorial. However I have one suggestion that I think is important. You don't explain what the commands are doing, for instance I didn't know what modprobe was, and I'm installing gentoo to get to know linux better.

Question: I have a working Gentoo 3.10.1. in Virtualbox.
The problem is when when I am try to install Gnome a lot of dependent libraries are still missing.
What is the easiest way to correct this problem.

Just want to add if you are unsure of what build to install using links then punch in the command uname -m and it will give you the recommended one. Great vid :)
