  • Also note that the western edge of the storm (a low pressure system) is bumping up against a massive batch of colder air (high pressure) and the prevailing winds will also guide the direction of the storm system. I was checking out radar approx same time as you and felt something was odd about various aspects about this storm but couldn't put my finger on it. Thx again!

  • I have seen this with other storms, what appears to be extra activity around them that does look like steering. Some radar sites are modified to do more than watch the precipitation, would like to know if they are causing heating of the upper atmosphere and if that effect does change a storms direction. Haven't seen any scientific studies on that, only vids like yours, mine and others. Thanks for taking the time to document this.
