Donna, Bridget, and Matthew--Accountant Aftermath and Pre-Vicky's Bridal Shower

Donna sees Harry out after Harry assures her to leave everything to him so she doesn't get taken. Matthew then emerges from his hiding place and tells Donna this is going to work. Donna says nothing else in her life is working, and she's just glad it's over because she was a nervous wreck. Matthew replies that that was just step one, causing Donna to collapse on the couch groaning that she doesn't want Matthew telling her she has to do more. Bridget then brings Donna a telegram; it's from Michael, informing Donna that he's coming to Vicky's wedding. Donna isn't happy that Michael will see her life in shambles. Matthew tells Donna that she can do anything; she just has to give 100%. Halfway is not her style. Donna agrees that halfway never has been her style. Matthew asks Donna if she's ready to man the battle stations. She says yes. Matthew tells her not to fire until she sees the whites of their eyes. Donna thanks Matthew and hugs him, and then he leaves. Donna then calls out, "Bridget? Let's get this party rolling! Chop, chop!" Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Yes. Matt and Donna dated, and got engaged, and were very briefly married, I think, but since Donna slept with Michael (her one true love) the night before marrying Matt, Matt left Donna when he found out about her and Michael.

Matt and Donna's breakup was a badly written mess. Even though the couple was popular, the exec producer at the time, Jill Farren Phelps, didn't think they should be together because of the age difference. She wanted Matt with someone closer to his age.

Anna Stuart and Matt Crane weren't happy with the writing for their characters after the breakup. MC even left the show for a while and AS said she had moments when she wished she had left too.

And, Donna/Michael fans were also disappointed.
