A request for rebelbhoy1888 for this Neil Young song has given me another chance to practise using my harmonica harness. The song describes the unstoppable progress of machinery, in this case thrashers, which have put so many labourers out of work over the past couple of centuries. Here in the Isle of Man, the largest machines used on farms for this purpose are combine-harvesters, but large as they are, they would look like Dinky Toys in comparison to the gigantic machines used to reap the crops on the American Wheat plains.

  • What's a Cmaj7? Simple C note?

  • @MrNorbi14 Not exactly, but like many related chords such as C7 or C9 etc, you can get away with the simple C. If you get yourself a book of chords for the guitar, you will find out more. I have been too lazy to really learn them myself, so often get by with alternatives. I wrote it out that way as that was how it was in the version I copied from the site I got the lyrics and chords from.

  • Nice song Tony......If you don''t mind me asking, where might I get one of those single stem harmonica? That one looks less awkward than any I have

  • @Tobytrim I bought this one at Norris's Music store here in Douglas in the Isle of Man. Sorry I do not have the details of the harness, but I am sure if you were to contact them they would let you know. 01624 661794 is their phone number.

  • Where are the nice pictures behind you from?

  • @IS82Indy They are my own work. I had a try at water colour painting for a while before I took up walking. The three children are my great-nephew and great-nieces.
