Developed by id Software and released in late '91 (though some might say it was completed in '91, but was released in '92), Catacomb 3D was one of the first FPS's to have textured walls. Inspired by Catacomb (a game with a top down view similar to Castle Wolfenstein), Catacomb 3D followed a mage as he ventured throughout many dungeons to find and defeat Grelminar the Lich. This game was followed by three more games and they form what is known as the Catacomb Fantasy Trilogy (though these 3 games were not developed by id Software).

Nice video, Informative and fun!
I played the Catacomb Series a lot when I was a younger kiddo, but I never got a chance to play this one... perhaps Internet might help me!
A note about the game's music; The music we hear while you play the game, is also the music for some maps in COMMANDER KEEN series, the newer Keens!
