4wd Hybrid?
-
Did you do any modification to the car or is it all stock?

@RavenTenguKabuto At 4:57 is where the new 2011 hybrids with the 2.5i4 and the advance trac would make a huge diffrence
-
Thats what will be the deal breaker for me

we've bought an escape hybrid 2007 and we've got disapponted. if one wheel lifts off the ground during slight offroading that's it. and for a SUV the springs are too stiff. i don;t know why the reveiws about this car say that the acceleration is similar to the V6 Escape. in fact there's a big difference between their peformance.

i don't think this actually counts as offroading since your driving right next to the road.... if it was in the forest with mud and swamps, that's when your offroading
I would love to take my escae off roading with you man...looks fun

A Land rover or Toyota could do better in 2wd mode!!!!

Ok fine... do they get 34 mpg??? Can they drive thru the woods in a quiet electric mode???

It's not real 4x4, there is a tiny electric motor on the rear axle, not a connected drivetrain to the gas motor. If you want to see real offroading get a 4x4 Tahoe and come down here to Alabama

Well you seem to be totally misinformed... The Escape Hybrid uses a power split CV trans very similar to the Prius (just better). We can drive offroad with either electric drive OR Electric + Gas Engine. No electric motor in the rear! A driveshaft going to a diff like normal 4x4 Escapes. If it had limited slip diffs or traction control like the new ones will have it would be even better offroad. Lets see your Tahoe get 32 mpg avg!
