The female singers of today need to listen to Barbra. You can have a great dramatic effect without all the vocal acrobatics. She is really amazing.

Absolutely. Mariah Carey--who has a great instrument--wails and squeals all over the place, to her great disadvantage. Whitney was pretty good for awhile, but nobody comes close to Streisand's talents.....

I was 'introduced' to Streisand at age 13,back in 1973,when my mother gave me a cassette tape,a compliation of female artistes,& Streisand was singing "The Way We Were",at least I think it was that track.Anywho,I was mesmerised by this amazing voice.As a 13 year old,what would I know from 'good music',lol! But I just knew I'd be following this magnificent woman's voice for many,many years to come.And guess what,I'm still here,lol.Just like La Streisand!

amazing in its simplicity....
there really IS a lesson in there for other singers.
..and therein lies her place in musical history. Some have great instruments. Others are great interpreters, stylists, know how to sing a song to convey its story.
Streisand, like few others, is an artist at both.
