Harvest Moon: Magical Melody - Kurt/Dia Rival Scene

To see rival scenes, have the rival couple member of the SAME gender at 4 hearts or MORE, and the member of the OPPOSITE gender at LESS than 4 hearts, and walk into the designated place for the scene. (In this case, it's the Sanatorium.)

However, unlike in some of the other Harvest Moon series games (ex: Tree of Tranquility, Animal Parade), rival couples in this game never develop their relationships into marriage. In the original Japanese version of Magical Melody, it was possible for rivals to marry - but in this release, nothing happens between the couples further than this single scene. So don't feel too threatened by rivals!

Heh-heh, the ultimate most un-hinted flat-out "THIS COUPLE IS MEANT TO BE" scene. Isn't that sweet? (Except for all of you Kurt lovers around here. ^^; Sorry.)

TAKE THAT! Tell me, if rivals married in the Japanese version, then HOW COULD KURT AND DIA MARRY? They may have already been wed when that scene is achieved in the Japanese version!

The above source appears credible because the writer clearly owned a Japanese copy of the game, as evidenced by the screenshots.

But wait... the contradiction remains that Kurt and Dia should not have been able to marry before Jamie's wedding...

I'm about to be found "G-U-I-L-T-Y" of distributing faulty information... How can I turn this around!?

...! EUREKA!

If you take a closer look at the webpage above... the true decisive evidence lies in section 32, about Jamie. Consider this telling statement:

"In the ENGLISH version, your character can actually marry Jamie..."

From this phrasing, we can deduce that...

*speed lines* JAMIE WAS NOT MARRIAGEABLE IN THE JAPANESE VERSION! Thus, rival couples such as Kurt and Dia were able to marry earlier in the game!

Case closed! *gavel slam*

Yep, you can. Just get the male rival couple member to at least 4 hearts, and have the female rival couple member at less than 4 hearts. ^^
