Sissel Kyrkjebø sings her solo, the Norwegian version of the German Christmas carol "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen", titled "Det hev Ei Rose Sprunge". Lovely accompanying by the Vienna Opera Children's Choir, might I add.

From the third annual Christmas in Vienna concert, with the Vienna Symphony under the direction of maestro Vjekoslav Šutej.

  • Sissel is surely the best cross-over soprano of her generation. Her crystal clarity reminds me of Herbert von Karajans favourite lyrical soprano, the Austrian Gundula Janowitz, who sang in the duet played in the Shawshank Redemption.

  • This great cross-over soprano just gets better and better. She reminds me of the crystal clear Austrian lyrical soprano Gundula Janowitz who sang in the duet in the Shawshank Redemption.

  • wonderfull.

  • Absolutely beautiful! Greetings from Armenia!

  • Sissel! glorious face , glorious voice, glorious character.

  • Ho er heilt i ein klasse for seg, ja... Fullstendig uanstrengt syng ho vakrare enn noko anna menneske og er samtidig nesten skamlaust vakker. Er det mogleg??

  • Beautiful voice. Beautiful singer. Beautiful song.
