This Anne sure is a smug little bitch. She doesn't have that orphan humility that Megan Follows portrayed. MF was confident, proud and yet her insecurity creeps in to bring her down a notch or two. Gilbert was sure a sexually repressed angry young man. Marilla offering a freaking coco! She looks more like John Wayne Gacy about to sexually assault a young boy Gilbert.This version may be true to the book but only by plot and NOT by spirit. This version is missing it's soul!

sooo what's the deal with this? britain was into anne of green gables and then made a version of the book? i think this is earlier than the canadian film.

I give the actor who plays Gilbert an A for effort, but he keeps losing the "American" accent...I have never Axed someone a question in my life, Maybe in parts of NY they do, but I don't think that happens a lot in the States..

"Oh dear, oh my, oh mercy," what were the writers thinking? This is lame even for 1975. Megan Follows rocks and will forever be my favorite Anne! The only thing better is for the Canadian version to hit the big screen with a slight revamp mainly more romance between Gilbert and Anne :p

This Anne is a smug little biatch and Gilbert is an very ugly, angry young man. He looks more like what I would imagine Charlie Sloane to be than Gilbert Blythe! Jonathon Crombie IS Gilbert and that's all there is too it. I've seen this whole version and watched in abject horror. Just SO wrong! :0
