I have ad blockers (ghostery and adblock plus plug-ins for my browser) and I also block advertising/data-mining websites using my HOSTS file (which is very easy to do & there are sites that explain how to do it as well as provide pre-populated lists of ad servers), and I never see commercials on YouTube because of it. It also speeds up your internet, removes distractions, and blocks drive-by downloads of rootkits and annoyware (which are most often spread through online ads bought by criminals).
