Libertarian candidate Travis Irvine was excluded from a private editorial board meeting concerning the U.S. Congressional race in Ohio's 12th District, which was held by various staff of The Columbus Dispatch and included his opponents Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi and Democrat challenger Paula Brooks on Monday. Irvine was never told of the meeting and was not even mentioned in an article about the event featured in the Dispatch yesterday. The article can be read here: http://www.dispatchpolitics.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2010/08/31/co...

Up until this point, several Dispatch reporters have been relatively good about including Irvine in articles about the 12th's competitive race. However, when Irvine went to the Dispatch building on August 31, 2010 to look into the situation, he was told by Dispatch editors that including third parties would be "a logistical difficulty," and Dispatch editor Ben Marrison even said it would be "too crazy." The Irvine for Congress campaign documented the experience to highlight the struggle of third party campaigns. Call The Dispatch and tell them to include third party candidates today : (614) 461-5072.

  • If your a Republican with a libertarian bent like Ron Paul and even if you win the first Ohio Straw Poll you don't get mentioned the next day in Sunday's paper. The Columbus Dispatch is playing dirty corporate and status quo politics.

RON PAUL 2012 and AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE completely

    IRVINE FOR CONGRESS

  • haha I love this guy!

  • I fired off an email to gsheller@dispatch.com, bmarrison@dispatch.com. If they are lacking in coverage of the candidates, I don't need them or their advertisers.

  • I was the Libertarian Party candidate for Governor of NJ last year. I just called and left a message.

  • I called wooohooo

  • Typical for the "free press" reporting for the Republicrats, our "one party system" .

  • Libertarian Party Member... Though I don't live in Travis' district, I called and encouraged the editor of the editorial board of the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch newspaper to publicize his Libertarian political campaign.

Subsequently, I applauded the editor and secretary of the news department for doing so!

As Travis states in the video, you can call the newspaper at (614) 461-5072.

  • I emailed bmarrison@dispatch.com (editor) rather than calling.

  • I just called for you. I am a Green Party member.... Libertarians, Greens, and Independents MUST stick together!

    Keep it up.
