Jonathan Rosenberg: Rules to success

In his quarter century of working in Silicon Valley at such companies as Apple, @Home, and Google, CMC Alum Jonathan Rosenberg has had ample opportunity to watch successful people in action. He will share his observations on what makes great people tick and draw conclusions on how a liberal arts education can arm the next generation of leaders. This was good sound business principles speech. He touched on so many points from diversity,general managers and learning from failures. What I liked most were the way he used common sense principles. In my opinion, one can use all the charisma ,gifts, learned knowledge and skills, they may have, but without some command sense. Most of it does not make sense. Very good job at keeping the crowds attention using humor to keep them focused.

These sort of thoughts can only rise from opinionated companies where employees actually think and ideas can go from bottom of the org chart to the top and companies where people stop becoming selfish and focusing on only their own career rather than the stuff they work on.

Very good talk with many points. 1 st point about communication is so different from existing view about it. Many points are reiteration from Apple philosophy.

Excellent video-very good points. EVERY business should have this as a mandatory video to watch! I hope to work for a group one day that lives by these very rules.We certainly could use it at MY place of employment. So many closed-minded people, no meetings, it's horrible. And, because I'm just a small player...my pleas for quarterly meetings (for 5 years) has NEVER been considered.--

it's been 3-4 years since I've seen this and I was looking around in my favourites and decided to watch this again. Like the top comment guy, I tested the e-mail thing again and he did respond again within approx. one minute. He said he certainly tries to email fast and if I had sent it an hour earlier he would take longer because of the super bowl. HAHA!
