HOLLAND AMERIKA LIJN by Introdans focuses on choreographers from America. Following a visit to the Mauritshuis museum in 1964, Glen Tetley drew his inspiration from The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. In his theatrical ballet Rembrandts painting is movingly brought to life. A programme featuring American modern dance would hardly be complete without the maestro José Limón. Ballet Dance Magazine wrote about Psalm: The use of the stage space and the overall sense of dance architecture was a stunning achievement. Robert Battle regularly surprises with his swinging dynamic works. No Longer Silent was praised by The New York Times as a remarkable dance that evoked primitive rituals in complex and modern terms. In this choreography the powerful ensemble sections and haunting solos evoke the social tension between the group and the individual. Robert Battle develops a sophisticated play of line and works in the tradition of great American choreographers such as Limón and Robbins. With this combination of works, HOLLAND AMERIKA LIJN is a programme full of dance and vitality.

Ballet Dance Magazine schreef over Psalm: The use of the stage space and the overall sense of dance architecture was a stunning achievement. No Longer Silent werd door The New York Times geprezen als a remarkable dance that evoked primitive rituals in complex and modern terms.
