Well, it is on the very left side, it holds one of the regulator arms in place. Tighten all the bolts though. But the bolt I am talking about can move up and down, and in my car I made sure it was all the way up before I tightened it, maybe your car is different. I was REALLY frustrated and thought I needed a new regulator and window tracks. Turned out to be a bolt, well that's fine by me lol

I won't need to get a new regulator, I already fixed the window. My regulator was bent, but I easily bent it back. There is a bolt on the left side holding the bottom left of the regulator in that became loose, and caused a misallignment

  • I had exactly same problem, with my 97 compact. The problem was in those rails in which window slides. they weren't straight. I straighted the rails, and everything was grand. Tricky part is to get the window back in to thouse rails ;)

  • @susundrupulis yeah i just fixed it yesterday lol, the rails were bent because a bolt was loose. straightened the rails, and lubed everything, then made sure everything was in there nice and tight, and now the window is perfect.

  • @kukimaoriwaka actually in my case it didnt bend, one of the bolts came loose. i think it could have bended if it hadnt fixed the problem, but i caught it soon enough that it caused no further damage

  • G Day all , I had the same problem ,drove me nuts trying to fix it { how to get the window back in the slide } .Once I worked it out it took me less than 2 minutes to do , 1st have window half way up get a long steel ruler 3ft , slide it {top down} into rail keep pushing firmly until glass tucks inside the rubber in the rail " use mirror to check " . loosen bolt on stableiser rail , push rail down 3/8 inch and retighten , its that easy ! Hope this helps it actually was as simple as that.

  • i have the same problem on my 1995 316i

which bolt are you talking about, how to re-align the regulator?

    its making me crazy

    :(

  • paste in google FEBI BILSTEIN : 26909 and buy it

  • FEBI BILSTEIN : 26909

  • yes in BMW infinite wisdom they really cheeped out on the doors. you will have to fix it yourself. you might get lucky and find someone who really knows what they are doing.
