Camera problem with htc magic running hero rom

A problem that occurs in my htc magic with hero rom v1.4 by fatality: when i'm using the built-in camera software, as I rotate my device, also the image of the camera does it and so the image appears to be distorted. When I shot the picture is ok, but the preview isn't. It's not a big problem but it's curious. I think it could be caused by the accelerometer that shouldn't work in the camera mode, but it does. The difference is clear when I use the video instead of the camera.
