  • @vgman94 Technology isn't perfect and man is not an infalible god, civilization stumbles on its inevitable march forward with disasters like Chernobyl and wars, but it picks itself up and continues its course. Nuclear fission has its problems but like most thinks it is perfectable technology it will inevitably become safer and safer as man acquires the ability to shield the environment from its negative effects, it has be better than the carbon Chernobyl we are exposed to on a daily basis.

  • @Jsledge85 (cont) I believe wind, water and solar energy combined can be just as efficient and more safe than nuclear energy. I don't believe I need to remind you of Chernobyl. 3. How many people's lives depended on going to their destinations and weren't just vacations? I would quite honestly like to know that number.

  • @Jsledge85 1. I don't mean to accuse, but I believe you're avoiding the point. Or perhaps you're simply missing it. Human experimentation against unethical, mental unstable persons is more moral than experimenting on innocent animals. The animal species we test on have intelligence ranging from near a 2-year-old to a 6-year-old. Not counting rats which are also very intelligent. There is no ethical reason why we should harm innocents over the guilty. 2. I disagree. (cont)

  • @vgman94 (1) I don't doubt that. I argue animal experimentation is the only realistic alternative to human experimentation. Animal life should be treated ethicaly. When it is sacrificed it should done so to truly advance scientific knowledge. (2) And that is why nuclear material should not be used to furnish weapons. That said, nuclear fission is only realiable source of abundant carbon free energy. (3) But, how many people made it to their destinations physically intact?

  • @Jsledge85 Animals are sentient beings with brains advanced enough to feel over 90% of the same sensations we do. Mass extinctions never occurred due a single species. Civilization is the naked, the hungry and also the rich. Splitting the atmo caused an unimaginable amount of pain to the Japanese. That is not worth it. Traveling the skies has killed hundreds, in human numbers and many more in avians. Your idealistic view of the world sounds like a dream. But it is not reality, I'm afraid.

  • @DoomedSpaceMarine123 They are criminals, they should be thrown in cells with sodomites. They stand in front of the advancement of science, in front of progress. They are inherently counter-revolutionary, and should be viciously eradicated.

  • @vgman94 [Continued] As far as mental health is concerned, humans have always suffered from psychological torment. How is civilization responsible for that? Civilization cloths the naked, feeds the hungry, houses the otherwise homeless, bridges oceans, brightens the night with artifical light, empowers man with the ability to travel the heavens, and split matter itself. Civilization is the product of historical struggle. Without a doubt, its woth it.

  • @vgman94 (1) Such a person would be a criminal, and should be executed. (2) An animal is a biological system, presumably reacts to the introduction of drugs, pathogens, and surgical proceedures. The respective reactions produce observable patterns (data), which provide humanity with a greater understanding of the universe. There were mass extinctions before civilization.

  • @42Globert Man is by nature a predator, who is naturally designed to eat a herbivorous diet of meats and vegtables. The protein from meat allowed man to acquire a large brain, and the ability to manipulate his environment. Agriculture provides the food that sustains society. Existance places man in a state of competition with other predators, creating the need to kill them. Man, like all animals has suffered from disease. Animal experimentation allows disease to be conquered.

  • ... are being killed by hunger

and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year sends out a card praying for 'Peace on Earth.'"- C. David Coats
