RITUAL

This is the time of the season
when grain swells
When life sparks it's struggle
blindly toward light.
A time of growing things
when earth is thick with juice.

The great chalk figure, fringed by gale
Erect before the sun
exalts the mysteries that lurk
within domain of runes blue veil.


And the witches, in their covens croon
Under ancient, gibbous, menstrual moon.
