Big snapper move in close to the coast of these offshore islands in spring to feed and spawn. We were there ready and waiting. Catching snapper, some well over line weight, in deep water can be exciting and fun. The weather can often get in the way but if you get conditions right you can have a ball!

  • read the earlier posts numbnuts! This crew saved long and hard to do this trip and there were no rules broken and certainly no fish wasted.

  • thats good for them...this crew saved all year to do this trip...a once a year trip. You probably take more fish all year than this crew. No rules were broken, most of the big snapper popped up in a unreleasable state...often happens in 80m+ of water, and plenty got put back in to fight another day. Nice plug for Waiheke Charters whoever the hell they are though..should reach millions

  • waiheke charters rock, only 6 fish per person and only allowed to keep the ones over 35cm. anything over 8 pound goes back. you guys in this video suck

  • @TheShitan666 - never heard of them and no-one else will either will screwed up practices like that.

  • Your assholes! Big snapper are our best breeders, and you say that you only got them to 10kg that time round... yeah because tyou already raped that spot! Due to charter boat operator and pricks like you that only care about taking people out for money, and are taking fish for fun... our waters are FUCKED!

  • @ABCPanelandpaint - you know nothing. The fishery is great shape.

  • People are entitled to take a daily limit of fish if they want to. I dont feel guilty for doing my job correctly! This group as many others do only fish for food once a year so when they do they enjoy taking a few home to feed the families.

Brookalypse - you fag....this is not raping the ocean! Do you see us towing a huge net, dragging tonnes of trawl gear along the bottom wrecking the enviroment and taking anything in our path. Get off your high horse numbnuts

  • every greedy arse hole has his day too!

  • Man. best video I've seen for catching huge snappers in NZ. I'm in Auckland. Hook me up. I wanna make booking for my birthday next year, 1st of June. Nice fish Guys...loving it

  • There are two types of fishermen. Those who can catch fish and those who just get really jealous!!!! Nice fish guys!!

  • @ABCPanelandpaint YOU KNOW NOTHING DUDE!!! you are making assumptions!! Snapper stop breeding when they reach a certain point (around 2 - 4 kg and most of these fish are well past that point. They actually become sterile even though they still produce sperm and roe. I discovered this while working for MAF catching snapper in the 1990s for a breeding programme. We had to target smaller fish to get any results.

  • DeepSea12 Do u come from nz ? Kia :) BTW its great in Nz!!!
