Aguas de março...Fito Paez / Antonio Carlos Jobim

Águas de Março") is a bossa nova song composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Jobim wrote both the English language and Portuguese lyrics. When writing the English lyrics, Jobim endeavored to avoid words with Latin roots resulting in the English version having more verses than the Portuguese. Another way in which the English lyrics differ from the Portuguese is that the English version treats March from the perspective of an observer in the northern hemisphere. In this context, the waters are the "waters of defrost" in contrast to the rains referenced in the original Portuguese, marking the end of summer and the beginning of the colder season in the southern hemisphere.[1].

In 2001, "Águas de Março" was named as the all-time best Brazilian song in a poll of more than 200 Brazilian journalists, musicians and other artists conducted by Brazil's leading daily newspaper, Folha de São Paulo.

soy brasileño y siempre me encantó mucho Fito Paez. Creo que no hay cantante mejor que él en Argentina. Es de verdad un genio.

Pero tengo que decir que esa versión no fue de las mejores... me parece un poco sufrido, verlo leyendo cada palabra (ojo, ni para un brasileiro es tan facil cantarla, es claro eso)...

Igual, como ya dijero abajo, Fito hace todo lo que hace de forma distinta, por querer, y por eso todo lo que hace es siempre ARTE.

es la peor versión que he escuchado de Aguas de MarÇo; un verdadero artista conoce sus límites, y esto está fuera de las capacidades interpretativas de este hombre. Esta bien para que cante en su casa y la pase bien con sus colegas, pero delante de un auditorio... el problema es que la mayoría de la audiencia no se entera de nada, no tiene oído ni cultura musical, solo se deja llevar por recuerdos emocionales provocados por la música

fito páez, es un excelente cantautor, pero pienso que debería tener una pronunciación más decente, así y todo leyéndola... los brasileños por su iniciativa aprenden a hablar castellano con una buena pronunciación, entonces nosotros también hagámoslo, aunque seamos mayoría...

To those of you carping/critica and nitpicking about "pronunciation"--pronuncia--wh­y don't we just listen to the sincerity of the feeling he creates, or perhaps you've recorded a better version of your own. I'd be interested in hearing it. Easy to be a critic, especially if you can't play and sing it...is "queixa" the word I'm looking for? Whining? It's the feeling of the music; I'm sure the late Tom Jobim would certainly agree!
