Guiness Book of World Records verified 5100+ participants. Washington Monument, July 9, 2011. This was the practice song, "Home on the Range." The actual record-breaking song was "We Are the World" which we were required to play for at least 5 minutes. There was a backing rock band and professional singers.

the theme of this event (Festival Indonesia) is "Celebrating Multiculturalism", that is why people who participated in this world record attempt were not only Indonesians but also Americans, Chinese, Japanese, Indian,Korean,Vietnamese,Thai, etc etc. Indonesians have to be proud because foreigners got to know at least a part of their culture.

@PrincessZelda007 I was born and raised here, and I admit, I never heard of an angklung until 3 weeks ago. I'm so glad I learned something new and was able to take part in this fascinating event.

The event was publicized on Facebook which is where I learned about it from a friend. I'm sure they picked up alot of people from Facebook and other places online.
