Silva vs Sonnen was absolutely staged or fixed. I think the fans should

1. Boycott Pay Per View
2. Let them know we're tired of this crap ... other rigged fights were

Shogun and Machida rigged at the judges level, Kimbo and Houston Alexander was rigged at the fighter level and other fights as well including this one.

@seldomsceen Thanks. Yeah someone that I know who used to fight in UFC got kind of a weird look on his face when I suggested it. He simply said that Silva had injured ribs and that was the reason. I call BS to that because it doesn't explain his whole approach in the fight nor does it explain the lack of his guard with Sonnen on top...I am repeating myself I guess. Anyway, take care

Wise words, I am a huge Silva fan, but i started havin doubts at the Griffin fight already. I knew it was gonna be staged as soon as all the Sonnen hype started. Facts: 1. Anderson never comes out in the first round like he did and surely does not get rocked almost knocked down by some of the best strikers in the division, but Sonnen does it with a slap, his guard was down .....2. After the Maia fight, Dana white did say he was gonna make it up for the poor performance of Silva.

The maia fight was almost like he had to let it go all those rounds so the bookies could make their money. I am not sure what these guys are getting into outside of the ring but they must have them by the balls.

i've had suspicions due to the fixing of sports throughout history but last nights fight with cain velasquez was the most suspect fight i've EVER seen, right up there with the mayweather vs ortiz fight.... you players that work from behind the scenes are some of the most fraudulant motherfuckers on the planet, you destroy the very essence of competition. and a word for cain, you sold out your people by taking the cheque and taking the dive, work on your acting skills. you're a disgrace.

@BFResearchSE This made me think of a recent fight, the rematch between Matt Serra and Chris Lytle, serra has a black belt in BJJ and Chris Lytle is an accomplished boxer who's never been knocked out, they came to the fight to make a point, Matt serra spent almost the entire 15 minutes getting hit in the face and never going for a takedown to work on the ground. that's Just ego and fighters wanting to settle a score. I'm not saying no fights were ever fixed but I don't believe it's this one

@BFResearchSE , it's possible the Maia fight was something weird as well, but then look at the way he KOed Vitor, I'd rather think he wasn't into those fights instead of thinking about some backroom deals. about the judges, I think many of them are just blind/deaf/retarded, of course I would not deny that there might be some corruption, I don't think shogun v machida 1 was fixed but when you see fights like nam phan vs leonard gracia, you start to think something is wrong with the judges

@motus Silva pissed a lot of folks off in the gambling world for letting his Arab Emirates fight go 5 rounds. I am pretty sure the Sonnen fight was a) payback b) maybe trying to fool the fans into thinking that someone may have a chance in hell at beating him...otherwise he makes no pay-per-view money. Fights are fixed at the fighter level (rare cases) and at the judge level (many cases for a while there but they bared down on them recently). Shogun v Machida 1...fixed at judge level

@BFResearchSE Henderson has immense power he often like to scrap, sonnen throws pitty patty punches, and some of these guys are fighting to flatter their ego, they'll stand with a guy known as a great striker just to prove to everyone they're a great striker. Sonnen isn't that great.. but silva said he was injured and I would agree, they might be building silva's legacy but there aren't that many worthy fighters in MW at the moment

@motus Silva could have been paralyzed from the waste down and beaten Sonnen. He never put Sonnen in his patented leg clamp guard and instead left it lose so Sonnen could throw a few punches. He never fought a wrestler like Sonnen? Are you kidding? Can you say Dan Henderson and he submitted Henderson who is an accomplished Grekko Roman Wrestler unlike Sonnen (the bum). Try watching Kimbo and Houston Alexander who didn't jump on Kimbo when he was down. That's Houston's game (fixed).

silva's rib were injured and he's never faced a wrestler like sonnen, silva always keeps his guard low, he has the reach and head movement to dodge punches, that's how he fights.. fights are not fixed.
