C-17 Globemaster III Demonstration
C-17 West Coast Demo Team

2008 NAS Oceana Airshow
NAS Oceana, Virginia
Saturday September 20, 2008

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as this C-17 is put through its paces in an AMAZING demonstration over NAS Oceana. I can say with absolute confidence that this was the best C-17 demo I have ever seen, flown the way a C-17 should be flown in a demonstration, though I wish there was at least one additional pass (maybe a photo pass) thrown in, but still, it's the best demo around. I apologize for the poor video quality, as I was trying my best to get the best video under VERY WINDY conditions, which persisted through Saturday night.

Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • OMFG dude Holy shit, that thing lifts up like a paper plane, I cannot believe how quick that thing lifted.

  • no there is not much turbulence at all ive flew over seas on one from turkey to whitemen air force base missouri

  • The C-17 used to have a lot of turbulent airaround the afterbody of the airplane in the beginning, then Boeing designed strakes on the afterbody of the airplane, and that smoothed out the airflow around the back where the jumpers comeout at the troop doords. The jumpers, especially light ones get swept under the tail and would hit each other.

  • yeah, C-17 has great take-off specification, seen on vid. If u try FS fly u'll feeeeel it.

I read C-17 isn't good for skyjumpers couse of lots of turbulence generate by wings, tru?

  • Was sorry I missed it at the show. Amazing demonstration! Thanks for posting the whole thing.

  • Great job catching the whole demo airshowfansh. Thanks for sharing.
