  • I totally agree with you !

Even in Don Giovanni by Losey, she is "discutable"

  • Kiri is a lovely singer; but sorry, she should stick to Mozart, Strauss, etc. Somehow, she doesn't cut it in the Italian repertory -- especially verismo.

  • People has idea what they are scoring ? Kiri TeKanawa was a remarkable singer but this is a joke, this seems Debussy's Andrea Chenier, a chamber version os La mamma morta. This is like if Elizabeth Schwarzkopft singing La mamma morta !

  • Callas in incomparable but Dame Kiri has a different approach. She may not get to the heart and soul of the aria but she what she lacks she makes up with gorgeous tone and surprisingly sings with a good lower register.

  • i never appreciated Dame Te kanawa so much, but i must say that in this Aria she's enchanting!

  • Heart-breakingly sad yet so gracefully sung.
