(Re-uploaded with slightly better sound quality, from my old channel). Jamesway Going-out-of-Business Ad from November 1995. Jamesway was a popular northeast discount store, founded in Jamestown, New York in 1961. Over-expansion and competition from other competitors at the time, as well as Walmart. In May of 1995, the company went up for sale, but no other chains had real interest. The company would file bankruptcy for the third, and final time in October 1995. Liquidation continued through the end of December.
You are MBZ321 aren't you? Do you think WAL-MART/Walmart would have been better off buying Jamesway to enter the Northeastern USA? Because a lot of their early stores in this area were shoddily built. The Warminster one from 1995 had a bad roof leak. And the one in Dickson City PA (near Scranton) opened in 1993 but had to be replaced by a Supercenter in 1996 because rocks were falling onto the back!
