Natural or Synthetic? I'm a male, 26, and have been diagnosed since the end of 2006 (5 years). Ive been on Synthroid the whole time and the more I research it, i read that Armor is the way to go, and even that has its major downfalls. Whats your input?

On a side note, I think I'm realizing I have fybromyagia as well.

Hi, i just came back from my Doctor and she told me that i have an early stage of Hashimoto's and that i need to wait about 6 months to do more tests to see if it has progressed. Its been couple months since i did all the tests that showed low TSH and i also had ultrasound done and took some pictures after taking a radioactive pill.. Well, i guess my question is, should i seek second doctors opinion or just wait? i have gained over 40lbs and have problem regulating body temperature in past 2 yrs

@Boka99999 In my opinion...if you've got positive TPO antibodies or TBG antibodies...you have Hashimoto's..The reason your doctor wants to wait is so your TSH elevates enough that she feels justified in giving you hormone replacement. (are you sure about the "low" TSH?) She doesn't have anything else to offer you.

How do I find a doc that's knowledgable on the same level as you in Washington state?? If antibodies aren't necessarily an indication of Hashoimoto's then what is the proper test for it? I'm only 31 no obvious health problems. Not really overweight but need to lose some. I'm currently taking one 12.5mg of Iodoral daily. I was convinced Iodine is needed, but am now wondering if I should stop that now? I don't want to set myself up for getting Hashimoto's!

@fetymann Antibodies are a good indicator for 85% of people with Hashimoto's. For monitoring progress, Analyzing your T cell and B cell subpopulation is better than TSH or antibodies (allong with a reduction or elimination of your symptoms). As for iodine, look for my other videos "Low Thyroid Mistake #1 --Iodine". The fact is that iodine can trigger Hashimoto's in the first place, and can stoke the fire once you have full blown Hashimoto's.

The only symptom/problem i have is dizziness. but i was told i have hashimoto's & hypothyroidism, vitamin D deficient, adrenal glands are a bit off & I noticed my ferritin is within range but the lowest (14) but my iron is super high even though it is in range. I keep asking if i have anemia but my doc won't answer me.. just said my ferritin is only low cause I am hypo :( . Do i need to take meds for hashis if i can't cure it & my only symptom is this horrible 24/7 dizziness?

What I don't understand is, if my genes for Hashimoto's were turned on and produced this auto-immunity, why couldn't the trigger also be turned off? I know this may sound like foo foo alternative medicine to someone like you, but couldn't it be possible and no one's simply discovered it yet? Something caused this trigger in my body to activate it. I could see if I were born with an auto-immune disease, but I wasn't. I'm just pre-disposed. The reason I ask is because you seem like a nice guy.

I have graves & Hashimoto`s. My doctor prescribed Methimazole 6 times a dayI gained 35lb in 5 days.. my doctor says get use to it , your getting old! So i stopped taking my pills its been a year now I`m back down to 120lbs, but I notice I go hyper & hypo through out the day.

@clarkchiro I will definitely keep my eyes open for your input in that video. I have an endo doc at the Cleveland Clinic that is willing to have me try out Armour treatment, I just need to make the decision to switch. And knowing what that transition may or may not take on my body/mind. I am having quite the time making the decision. I would love to hear your input. Your videos are wonderful! Thanks.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 9 years ago and have been on thyroxin all that time. I don't think I feel any symptoms however I do get lots of hair falling out in the shower and I'm carrying extra weight. I live in Australia. Should I just keep going like I am. I go and get blood tests once a year. Now I'm not sure they are checking all the right things. What should I ask to be checked in my blood tests?

To be honest with you i have no idea whats going on now.... I did all my tests couple of months ago and today i went to see my doctor and all she said to me was that i have an early stage of Hashimotos. I was kind of surprised and havent asked her any questions. She said that i'll do more tests in about 6 mo. and that was it... I knew that my hormone levels were low when i did my bloot tests done but never tought it was anything serious. Thank you for your time
