6024 King Edward I made preservation history on 21st March 1993 when it stormed Wilmcote Bank achieveding the equivelant of DBHP. The crew were from Leamington and were: Driver Woodward Fireman Widowson and Inspector Weight. We see the action from on the footplate and lineside. The load was 12 coaches. This was before King Edward I's chimney and blastpipe were modified to comply with modern height restrictions.
Great video, the driver is giving the sanding lever some stick...Cheers Bill

Wonderful sequence! One of my favourites. What a shame it is that 6024 seems to be restricted by so many gauging problems these days.

Very interesting to see just how hard the crew had to work.
How many people were on the footplate? I'm assuming 4, given that someone was working a camera.

Its amazing how the King sounded back then before having its height cut down, sounded so much more better and louder too, having seen a few footages of yours in the early 90's. And it hit the 2000lb mark really well.

Excellently done with the split screen showing how hard the crew has to work a real insight.
