I do these kinds of swells too, but I use a volume pedal, which makes it is a lot easy and it also doesn't wear down the volume knob's pot.
Got to love delay and reverb. Beautiful combination.

Splendid playing as always. I bet that technique would be wonderful for emulating a steel guitar - for example "Soon" from the YES song "The Gates of Delirium".
