There was a packed house at Republican Dan Lungren's town Hall meeting on Aug. 24 2011. He was met with anger in side and out side from both sides, his tea party constituents and users and future users of the the safty net were also there in force. He nearly walked out after only a couple of minuets due to hecklers. Many that feared losing the programs that they had paid into for life could barely contain there angre during the meeting and at least two people were walked out by security. Sadly Rep. Lungren rather than acknowledge that it might be lagitimate anger based on fear of losing programs that they desperately depend on insulted them by calling them publicity seekers. He also implied that they were not his constituents and one can only assume that this means that he only represents the rich or at least those that don't have a need in Social Security, Medicare and Medicade. Although, I must admit that I am not in his voting distric, yet he may be forgeting that he reprsents the state at the federal level regardless of his distric boundaries. Of course the Tea Party types were upset that they hadn't cut more. There appeared to be at least one staged question. Surprisingly this time he had a local supervisor pick the people that would be allowed to ask questions rather than himself as before.
Why did they not record the entire meeting? The last part, I guess, wasn't very favorable to the congressman.
