A quick snapshot of the nightlife in Beijing. Michael Kohn braves a deep fried scorpion at the night markets, he explores some of the tiny bars which he describes as "holes in the walls." But have you ever seen fish swimming around in the ceiling while dining at a restaurant? Beijing has it all.

  • That was barely even scratching the surface of the sweet nightlife over there. Plus none of the locals hang out at wangfujing, it's an over-priced tourist magnet full of out of towners and foreigners.

  • fish in the ceilling ?? COOLEST THING EVER

  • Wht hell tht man is eating with stick.

  • this video was interesting but man was that guy a douche

  • And more ridiculous that people paid taxes but has to pay for compulsory education, and have to build 'Guanxi' with public servants to do business. People have to save for raining days when gets old but central banks issues more notes to dilute that, the gov is the regulator but also the participant in economy, rules easy to be changed to trap... All slaves for gov, the CHN featured economy.

  • I wouldn't know about other countries. But I was shocked when I learned a friend had to pay the boss to get a job. That wouldn't happen here. As for the wealth, I have never seen so many audis and benzs. So someone is making a lot of money. And for a country with low wages, they pay more for electronics like tv, computers and cell phones. They pay full price. That sucks. As for gas, it is about the same as in the states. And for cars, the same model is cheaper in the states than in china.

  • Yes, the suplus of job seekers is quite large, but why do other countryies that has similar density in population enjoy their lives paired with proper CPI and wage level? The economic system got some problem so that the domestic comsumption is so low to boost employment and wage level, compared with the performance in the other sectors, and there are less jobs provided in heavy industry, and not much money generated from investment are distributed as wages.

  • yup, I get the same answer from my friends in china. They hate the low wages. But there are just too many people who are willing to do the job for less

  • Hi, mate, that's because you've got a job in the US, and spent money in China, if you have to earn money to feed you in China, you will change your mind.
