These are clips of some videos I took from CERN's main auditorium during the first beam event on 10 September 2008. It was amazing to see so many people so excited about a few white dots on a screen. And even more amazing to be one of those excited people. I can assure you that people were just as excited about the beam passing through CMS as they were about it going through ATLAS, it's just that I put my camera down to applaud at that point.

I had been planning to do something more interesting with these videos, but it's been a year and a day (by the time the video finishes uploading) already and I haven't got around to it. So happy beamiversary.

The music at the end is from 'Happy Birthday, CERN' by Arthur Roberts. It can be found here: http://www.haverford.edu/physics/songs/roberts/1985/roberts1985.htm
