Assorted footage of my Malawi cichlid Tanks. First is a 55 gallon Mixed Malawi Tank (Yellow Labs, Blue Zebras, Red Zebras and Aceis). Second is a 20 gallon Blue Ahli growout tank. Third is a 55 gallon Lab Yellowfin Breeding Colony. Both 55 gallon tanks also contain bushnose plecos, synodontis decorus, chinese algae eaters and red claw crabs. The Lab Yellowfin tank also has an electric blue crayfish lurking around somewhere.

  • Do the Red Claw Crabs need to breath the air? And how is the tank looking since this vid was posted? You should do an update!!!

  • @joelbraxton They never live long enough for me to find out. The Cichlids peck them apart and eat them :). I've since taken this tank down after multiple generations of successful breeding. I have a single 90-gallon South American tank (Managuense and Green Terror) and hope to out up a 180-gallon African tank sometime next year. Thanks for watching!

  • Who's the idiot who disliked this video? At least have the balls to say why, Nancy-boy.

  • @bman0341

your design dont rly look natural

  • @ilovefishful Fair point - but these fish bred multiple generations and were as content as tanked fish can be. Plenty of places to hide, breed and stake as their own territory. I never claimed my tanks were/are the epitome of a natural environment.

  • where you your rocks from

  • @xXGhostChiliXx They're plain old lava rocks. You can get them at any good aquarium shop. They are porous, and provide an excellent platform for algea and good bacteria.

  • man i love your tank at 3:22 keep up the good work

  • @Jason442200 Those are Lab Yellowfins, otherwise known as Mbambas.

    Yes - that's Opeth...pretty epic stuff.

  • Nice setups, I'm just doing the research for my 55 gal bowfront and I really like what you did with yours. What are those blue/purple ones at about 4:40? Great sound track too, Opeth?
