@OregonCoastGhost Some of us get a huge thrill out of sharing ideas and thinking positively about solutions. It gets harder and harder to entertain people, so movies get more and more violent. If I see previews of a movie that features lots of violence and car chases, I don't go. I don't think it is right to be "entertained" by witnessing other people's destruction. I violence should shock and disturb. Citizen armies always have to be taught to hate this year's "enemy." kids shouldn't watch.

Seems like intellectual or challenging topics are not for a big audience either if they are made as simple lectures. I like it, but look at the numbers of views TED gets compared to all the consumer friendly low level BS that is just around the corner on youtube or out there in the interwebs. You are right, art IS relative, but this is a classic singer songwriter/protest song. With this heritage and a certain quiet attitude and severity it fits perfectly on topic.

If TED is taking entertainment to this, then they should concentrate on songs that a lot of people would listen to. The point of this is the message, therefore the point of this is how much audience you can get. Art is relative.
