NEWEST DESIGN of The World Trade Center Freedom Tower

The latest design of One World Trade Center aka Freedom Tower. The banner was hung on the fence that surrounds the construction site at the WTC aka Ground Zero and was filmed 9/11 under the Tribute in Light display of 2009.

The Freedom Tower is due to be completed in April 2013.

The New York City Freedom Tower, which will stand 1,776 feet tall with 109 floors on the site of the former World Trade Center, is the work of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. It will serve as a beacon of freedom, and demonstrate the resolve of the United States, and the people of New York City.

Construction on the tower, which will have a cubic base, began in early 2006. Steel became visible aboveground in 2007, and by 2013 the building will be ready for occupancy - twelve years after the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorist attacks.

The site will also feature the Reflecting Absence memorial, which will honor the 2,986 men and women who died as a result of the terrorist attacks which thrust America, and the world, into war. Over 2,500 people died after the World Trade Center came crashing down to earth, and leaders vow they will never be forgotten.

On March 26, 2009, the Port Authority said that the building will be known as ' One World Trade Center ', replacing its former name ' Freedom Tower '.

The Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. Tribute in Lights was originally going to be named " Towers of Light ", but the victims' families felt that the name emphasized the buildings destroyed instead of the people killed.

@TLJAWSIMIB I dont even know why people keep protesting. I mean the building is already MORE THAN HALF WAY DONE. Do you people honestly think that they will knock down this building after all the money they spent to give start rebuilding the world trade center again? if you like it then good and if you dont then good because no matter how you feel about it THEY ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE IT.
