How to hex edit (mod) Bioshock 2 (Part 1)

In this tutorial i will show you how to edit Adam and Cash in Bioshock 2. FYI im still testing this out so it has a chance of being wrong! I need more saves to know for sure!

Step 1:
Save your game in Bioshock 2 (Remember you have to have Adam and Cash for this to Work!) And make sure you remember how much cash and adam you have!

Step 2:
Get your save off of your storage device.

Step 3:
Use a program that can extract the container files from your save (Modio can do this), and extract the mainsave.bsg

Step 4:
Open Offzip & Packagezip UI and for the input select the mainsave.bsg you extracted. For the output seleect a folder (you will have over 100 .dat files so i would recommend a folder) And FYI the folder has to be on your desktop along with the mainsave.bsg (this is because of a coding conflict of the program) (Make sure the folder on the destop doesnt have ANY spaces in it or otherwise you will get an error to!) (The UI is sketchy because Offzip and Packzip are console based programs!)

Step 5:
Find the .dat file that starts with five zeros from the 100+ you extracted. Mine was 000003f8.dat!


Step 6:
Open the .dat file that you founnd in a hex editor

Step 7:
Find what your cash and adam value is in hex form using base converter, and just copy the value of your cash or adam (whichever you want to do first) and Ctrl + F to find the hex value and paste the value in the Find box!
