Put the pedal to the ... wood? Located on the tip of the historic Cedar Point Peninsula, Mean Streak is a wooden roller coaster that beckons riders from all around the park. Built in 1991, this wooden forest of hills and thrills features a stunning 161-foot-tall first hill, a blazing top speed of 65 mph and more than 5,400 feet of hair-raising excitement.

Made from 1.7 million board feet of treated Southern yellow pine, Mean Streak is still one of the tallest and fastest wooden roller coasters in the universe. Mean Streak gave 814,750 guests a ride they will never forget in 2006. In 16 years, more than 19 million guests have ridden the Mean Streak. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.

this isnt as bad as people say it is. yes you gte pounded around, but just the same as any coaster thats over 20 years old. im SOOO sorry that it was as smooth as the maverick, some people like myslef actaully like this coaster, so quit bitching about it.

@hallariousct you're proving you're a hipcrite, when you said "we're all entitled to opinons" because thta was my opinion about others and im entitled to it and the entire POINT of wooden roller ocasters is for it to be bumpy, my 64 year old aunt goes on this, kinda makes you feel like a pussy doesnt it?

@neoryan333 1. We're all entitled to opinions so shut the fuck up. 2. This ride is EPIC with the trims off, people hate it because its too goddamn slow. with the trims on its bumpy, slow, and unforceful. Words cannot describe it's chuck norris status when the trims are off.

@Status0nline I always defended this ride saying it was not as bad as people made it out to be but whatever they did last off season was HORRIBLE. The shimmy at the tops of both high turns was annoying after a while but tolerable. Now that is gone but there's a god-awful jackhammering in the dip between them. I used to marathon this at night-have gotten 8 rides in a row on. I cannot marathon it anymore with the painful jackhammering.
