  • That looks like the '78 1.2 model. Its got the square headlights. I've got one the exact same colour, but its got round headlights with indicators under the crome bumper. very rare 1.0l engine. Its only a 1.0l but extremely rare. I'll stick up a video soon. Its fully restored.

  • should have been me who answered :p I was logged in under someone elses account ;)

  • Yours looks to be in very very good shape. Are you gonna restore it? Parts are so hard to get now. Your best chances of getting parts is from Vauxhall in england.

  • haha, it's (very) far from in good shape!

check my other videos, it has been fully welded, and now I'm painting epoxy primer on it. I've been working on it for 1,5years now...

And parts are quit easy to get here, you have a lot of companies in holland that sell repro parts, or even new original opel parts...

  • sounds nice!

but mine is indeed a 77 model (says so under the hood) but was first registered in 78.

Looking forword to see some of your kadett!

  • i've got one of '79 it is better than this.... i will upload one video soon.......(1.2cc full extra)

  • lol

  • Yep,

    thinks it's something like that!

You should be glad you have a "leftover", I like C1 better then C2 but hey, it's a kadett :)

And indeed, the main problem is rust, love it haha.

If you wanne see what's going on with mine just check my website it's on top. It's in Dutch but the pictures speak for themselfs!

  • Ok, I reckon my father (which I heritated the car from in 1990) bought a "leftover" 76 then, and got it first registered in autumn 77. It was anyway my first car, and I loved it sincerely, despite the obvious Opel problems with cabin leakage, engine boiling, rust etc. It was tremendous fun to drive, especially in winterconditions.

  • the chassis number on the front of the car (just under the hood) says it's a '77 kadett so I think so.

mine was first used in 78.

But kadett C2 was first introduced in 1976 so maybe you have a modified C1?

And 78 was the last period they made a Kadett C so would be strange to modified the design for it then ;)
