Here's a clip of my Sinclair Spectrum 128K playing some of Ay Riders "You Are Adult" album. The album comes as a TAP format Spectrum program with the ZXSP emulator for Mac OS X, but Iwent furthur and converted it for use on a real ZX Spectrum, for retro value!

  • It has nothing to do with the amount of ram, but the chip used for music. If you add the AY interface to any 16K or 48K Spectrum you get exactly the same result. Search for MrBeep or Yerzmyeys's ZX digital music and you'll see what I'm talking about. They do it all with 48K of ram.

  • 6 months ago, but I want to reply anyway. The 16 and 48k Spectrums were shite at sound. Only one tone at a time, like a monophonic ringtone. This one has 128k of ram, you see.

  • you know its been a while - but i really dont remember the speccy being that good with sound.

    much better than i remember.

    good stuff indeed.
