  • I wish everybody had spoken to me like this about our shared passion for astronomy when I was there, rather than making me feel marginalised and stupid due to my autistic spectrum disorder...

  • Strange to see all my lecturers here talking about Herschel and Planck. Makes me feel rather insignificant as a greasy undergrad....

  • I absolutely agree. Philosophically and ethically speaking, there is so much to talk about concerning this topic. Anyway, thanks for you response. Ciao.

  • There is no meaning to life, according to my observations life is the coolest thing in the universe (not litterally) and is therefore its own reward (we're just being greedy).

Statistically there must be more advanced life somewhere else but the chances of us, now, finding it? Astronomical.

Just think how far we monkeys have come in such a short space of time. We can ask each other these questions: What is outside this universe that we can see, why is that there, and what does that mean?

  • Looking good so far chumps and chumpettes.

Keep up the good work and I hope you find something like a massive frozen star made of jelly. However, I think you'll find the classical model to be a lot more robust than you're hoping.

  • I have been keeping up with the progress of the construction of Herschel and Planck. I'm very excited to learn of the discoveries of these two. However, I often question myself, "Is knowing about a creation of a star important to my human well-being? Or is this only another attempt to understand the meaning of life?"
