The sweet pea flower, or lathyrus odoratus, is in the legume family, but otherwise is different from edible sweet peas. Grow sweet pea flowers from vines on a trellis with help from a sustainable gardener in this free video on flower gardening and plant care.

  • ok i'm sorry i'm quite nerdy about these things but sweet pea famously (in flower nerd circles) have never been able to be grown with yellow flowers. just saying, sorry :P

  • @cwaj the best way to sow sweet peas are, use soil based compost ie JI#1 without

fertilizer In a seed tray put !inch of compost quaurter inch Vermiculite water and spread

seeds on topand press down with piece of wood cover with glass and keep light out.

After 4 or 5 days you will find shoots appearing cover with same compost and leave them till they have 3 seaves on and then prick them out into 5inch pots 6 to apot or

into 3inch pots 3 to a pot Garddigger.

  • ill try the wet tissue trick since it didnt grow in a pot

  • Please post or send me a video, or how to - on your green house. I love it!

  • yay now i know how to grow sweet pea?

  • I see. so the pods She is holding here are Pisum , and the flowers shown are Lathyrus Odoratus . I'd likely go the edible strain over poison . Thank you Allan
